A group of volunteers are getting together in Lichfield to give the city a spruce up in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The Lichfield Litter Legends will be at Stowe Fields from 11am to 2pm on Tuesday (31st May).
A spokesperson said:
“We are welcoming all of our volunteers – and anyone else that would like to join us – to meet for some cake, a cup of tea and directions to the area which they are going to clean for Her Majesty.
“Our group are passionate about getting to our ultimate aim of a litter-free Lichfield, but we also like to enjoy ourselves as well, so we would like to welcome like-minded people to join us in our celebration.
“Our monarch has served us for 70 years and we need to show her that we appreciate her sacrifice in the only way we know how – we hate litter and what better way for us to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee than to ‘clean for the Queen’?”
