Lichfield City FC’s weekend failed to improve with a Bank Holiday Monday loss at Brocton.

Russell Dodd’s side went down 2-1 at Brocton after suffering a 4-1 defeat against Atherstone Town two days earlier.

City went behind against Brocton before equalising after the home side were reduced to ten men.

However, they failed to make their numerical advantage count as a free kick condemned them to another defeat.

Lichfield will get a much needed break from league action on Saturday (September 1) when they entertain Barnt Green Spartak in the Les James Challenge Cup, kick-off 3pm.
