Arron Edge

A fundraising night is taking place in Burntwood in memory of a local man who took his own life.

Arron Edge died in August 2013 and his sister Jodie is embarking on a range of events to raise money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably charity (CALM).

She said: “I don’t believe my family or any of Arron’s many, many friends will ever fully come to terms with the great and devastating hole that his death has left in our lives.

“The idea that the tragedy could have been prevented if only he had opened up more is torture.

“There is nothing that can bring Arron back to us, but we will keep him alive through our many thoughts and memories of him. And what we can do is contribute to the help that is out there for young men in the UK feeling at a loss and not knowing where to turn.”

A number of fundraising events have already taken place in the lead up to a charity parachute jump Jodie will carry out next month.

And on August 2 The Victoria Inn will play host to a night with DJ Cutloose from 8pm to 1am. Entry is free but donations to CALM are welcome.

People can also donate via Jodie’s JustGiving page.
