Ambulance staff are hoping to back a winner by organising a charity horse racing night in Lichfield.
The event, on 22nd November, will be raising money for the Katherine Allport Foundation and the Paul Hodges Cancer Fund.
A spokesperson from the Lichfield Ambulance Hub said: “Katherine’s foundation was set up in 2018 by her ambulance technician husband Scott, after she sadly lost her brave battle against cancer aged just 32.
“The foundation aims to raise awareness of cancer and support those who are undergoing treatment.
“Through this event the foundation aims to help support Paul Hodges, father of Lichfield paramedic Molly.
“Paul urgently needs funding for a cancer drug that the NHS do not currently fund.”
The horse racing night starts at 7pm at Lichfield Social Club. Tickets for adults cost £5 on the door with children going free.
