A LOCAL councillor will mark a milestone this weekend when he attends his 333rd advice surgery.
Cllr Steve Norman, Labour representative for Chase Terrace ward will reach the figure at the Burntwood Library session on 3rd January.
He said:
“Despite a four-year absence, but including some extra surgeries I tried, this will be my 333rd since I was first elected in 1995 in Lichfield district.
“For me, it has always been essential to hold a surgery where your residents, whether they voted for you or not, can ask for help, lobby you about an issue or just want to complain to someone who will listen.
“I believe it is important for voters to be able to speak to their elected representatives face to face.
“I think it is also important to publicise a telephone number so that those who are not able to use the internet to email or can’t get out can contact you another way.”
He will be joined by his Labour colleagues for the drop-in session between 10am and 11am.
