The Conservatives are taking us back to the past, Labour’s 2017 General Election candidate for Lichfield and Burntwood has claimed.
Chris Worsey will contest the seat once again after coming second to Michael Fabricant in 2015.
And the tech start-up company founder said it was important Britain was focused on the future.
“I feel like Theresa May and the Tories are taking us back to the past,” he said. “It’s 2017 and they are campaigning on bringing grammar schools and fox hunting back.
“They have not got a positive vision for where we need to go as a country. Where is the focus on the industries and the jobs of the future? Where is the strategy to deal with the rise of AI and automation? Where are the innovative policy ideas such as trialling a basic income?
“We are in the midst of a huge digital revolutions but the Tories are taking us back to a time before fax machines.”
