Business buildings in Burntwood could be demolished to make way for new housing.
Tame Homes has applied for planning permission to replace existing buildings on the Overton Farm plot in Hammerwich.
The developer hopes to build nine homes on the site at the junction of Coppy Nook Lane and Overton Lane.
A statement supporting the application said the development would be appropriate, despite the Green Belt setting.
“While the existing buildings are not derelict, they are nonetheless unattractive, incongruous and unkempt,” the statement said.
“Their industrial use and character, coupled with the large areas of hardstanding and its use for external storage and servicing does not sit comfortably with the rural character.
“An opportunity exists to enhance the landscape and visual amenity of the area.
“The proposed development does not have a materially greater impact on the openness of the Green Belt than the existing buildings and the use of the land and buildings for industrial purposes.”
