Burntwood RUFCs second string travelled with a much-changed side to face Uttoxeter 2nds and returned with a 33-14 win.
Liam Lloyd, Hal Gozukucuk and Nick Peplow scored first half tries. Two conversions by Martin Ottey made it 19-0.
Uttoxeter hit back with two converted tries to put the result in the balance but Gozukucuk with his second and a Steve Blockley try plus two Ottey conversions sealed the win.
Blockley, Gozukucuk and Peplow were the pick of the performance plus youngster Joel in the back row who was everywhere.
Elsewhere an under-strength Burntwood 3rds were well beaten at home by a Rugeley 2nd team who blended a side of experience in the pack and youth in the backs to good effect.
Burntwood’s cause was not helped when they suffered injuries to Paul Rogers (hamstring) and Kenny Adams (shoulder).
This Saturday (March 20th) the 3rds are in Merit Table action away to Wolverhampton 3rds.
