Lichfield City FC’s unbeaten run came to an abrupt after a heavy defeat at Uttoxeter Town.

Gary Birch’s men were up against it after the hosts found the net with just two minutes on the clock.

Lee Osborne had an opportunity to level things up before Uttoxeter doubled their advantage.

Things went from bad to worse for Lichfield as goalkeeper Jon Clough was sent off and Town made it 3-0.

There was a brief glimmer of hope when an own goal reduced the deficit but the ten men failed to prevent Uttoxeter adding another two to complete a 5-1 scoreline.

Lichfield will hope to bounce back from defeat when they take on Leicester Road in the Les James Challenge Cup on Saturday (December 6).
