A man from Burntwood has been charged after a stabbing in Lichfield.

A man from Burntwood has been charged after a stabbing in Lichfield.

Mark Scarrett of Matthews Avenue, was charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, and criminal damage. 

He was held after an incident in Broadbent Close, Lichfield, at around 4am on Saturday morning (29th June) where a 48-year-old man suffered a stab wound to his abdomen. His injury is not thought to be life threatening. 

Scarrett appeared before magistrates at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre in Newcastle-under-Lyme ton 1st July and was remanded in custody.
