CHASETOWN conclude a relentless January fixture list when Bury FC visit The Scholars Ground
Jamie Hawkins’ side produced a strong performance to get the better of league leaders Lower Breck last time out.
And The Scholars boss hopes his side will have added confidence as they prepare for play-off candidates Bury.
He said:
“We enjoyed our win on Saturday, but we know that we have tough game after tough game so our focus immediately turned to Bury.
“My hope is that the players take confidence and real belief from the result that we can compete with the best sides in the league.”
Chasetown continue to hover around the play-off spots – and Hawkins believes a result in this match could be influential as his side fight for promotion.
He said:
“I hope that it can be a catalyst for the squad to believe that we can compete consistently with the best sides in the division.
“We have asked for consistency – and I feel that on the whole our level of performance has been.
“We now have to make sure that good performances are producing good results too.
“Everyone talks about Bury’s resources, but I think that is an easy thing to say. Let’s face it, none of us would complain if we had them, so fair play to Bury.
“They are working with the tools that they have been given. What we have to do is find a way to contain their threats and then cause them some problems of our own.”
