CHASETOWN enter a new month with a tough test as they face title contenders Runcorn Linnets away from home.
Jamie Hawkins’ side fell short to Bury in their last outing as a first half goal separated both teams at The Scholars Ground at the weekend.
But the Chasetown boss is still insistent that there is plenty of time in the season – and that his side cannot be counted out of the promotion chase just yet.
He said:
“In the course of the season, there’s still a long way to go with a lot of games to be played.
“We’ve got to be more ruthless and a bit nastier at times. We want to make sure that in tight games it’s us coming out on the right side of results.”
The Linnets got the better of Chasetown with a pair of late goals in their last meeting just two weeks ago.
Runcorn currently sit second place in the table, two points behind leaders Lower Breck.
Kick off at the Apec Taxis Stadium is at 7.45pm tonight (3rd February).
