A COUNCILLOR has praised the community work of a local sports club.

Cllr Robin Hall heaped praise on Chasetown FC after attending a business meeting at The Scholars Ground.

Afterwards, the Staffordshire County Council member for Burntwood South highlighted the efforts of the “incredible community club”.

He said:

“What really struck me was the scale of the work the club does in the community. From supporting men’s mental health and disabled children, to women’s football and with around 1,400 children a week using the facilities, this club genuinely outkicks its coverage.

“I heard passionate, committed voices from people doing remarkable things for the local community, often quietly and without fuss.

“I can assure everyone involved that I’ll do my utmost to make sure the County Council continues to support this incredible community club and the work it does.”
