Fire chiefs say they hope people struggling to afford to heat their homes in Lichfield and Barton-under-Needwood will use warm spaces sessions at local stations.
The cost of living crisis and rising energy prices have seen a number of community buildings opened up for local residents.
Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has opened up Lichfield Community Fire Station on Thursdays from 1.30pm to 3pm, while the station at Barton-under-Needwood is open on Tuesdays from 1.30pm to 3pm.
Ian Read, head of prevent and protect at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said:
“I am pleased that we are able to offer these facilities to our communities who are facing considerable challenges in the run up to the winter months.
“I would encourage anyone who is experiencing difficulties in heating their homes and dealing with the cost of living crisis to come along and visit our stations.
“Not only will you be welcomed with a cuppa, you’ll also meet some friendly faces and find out more about how our service can support you.
“We’ll be using the sessions as an opportunity to raise awareness of our campaign, Be Warm, Be Safe, which is about encouraging people to warm their homes safely.”

Other venues to open up include The Bittersuite Pub, Lichfield District Council House and the Lichfield Garrick.
