A BURNTWOOD organisation has been awarded almost half-a-million pounds to help support young families in the area.
Spark will receive £497,217 over the next five years from the National Lottery Community Fund to help its Bright Beginnings and Grow and Thrive project work.
It will see young families able to access peer support sessions, activities and events.
Esther Allen, Spark CEO, said:
“This funding means we can keep supporting parents and carers for the next five years, including one-to-one support when families are in difficulty, as well as continuing to provide a community hub in Burntwood for a wide range of partners to provide services.
“I know that making connections at Spark is so important for so many people – and this funding will enable Spark to continue having such a positive impact.
“I would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone that has been part of Spark the last ten years. Our team are incredible.
“To reach Spark’s 10 year milestone and to be recognised with this support from The National Lottery Community Fund is huge for Spark as a small charity.”
