A LOCAL business is celebrating after receiving an award for its work on safeguarding children.

Nursery firm Busy Bees landed the Safeguarding Inclusion Award at the Safeguarding and Child Protection Association Awards (SACPA).

It comes after the company was revognised for the use of a dedicated special educational needs and disabilities helpdesk which gives staff guidance, training and secure information logging.

Busy Bees was also commended for the launch of its medical risk assessment panel which brings together experts to ensure high-quality care for children with complex or life-limiting conditions.

Deena Billings, the company’s quality director and safeguarding lead, said:

“At Busy Bees, safeguarding our children, teams and families is at the heart of our approach to early years education, so it’s an honour to be recognised for our commitment to creating safe and inclusive environments.

“This achievement reflects the dedication, compassion and teamwork of our Busy Bees colleagues who are committed to ensuring children are cared for and given the very best start in life.”
