A PETITION has been submitted to councillors in Alrewas in a bid to keep cast iron lamp posts.
Mill End Lane residents are hoping to keep the structures in place, despite them being earmarked for replacement in 2028.
The petition was discussed at a meeting of Alrewas Parish Council.
Minutes from a meeting last month said councillors would take up the issue with stakeholders:
“EON were recommending replacement, but are now liaising with SCC to look at options. Cllr Janet Eagland was asked to request a meeting between Staffordshire County Council, EON and residents to discuss.”
