Lichfield City FC’s Dean Gilbert is hoping to strengthen his hand with the signing of Ben Windridge from Midland Combination Premier Division outfit Dosthill Colts.
The experienced defender has long been on Gilbert’s radar and, after serving a seven-day notice, the City boss is hoping to tie up the deal in the next few days.
He said:
“We need to keep improving the side all the time. Ben would be a massive signing for us and I know he is keen to join us so it’s just a formality and hopefully he should be with us in time for Saturday’s game against Henley Forest.
“Ben’s a great centre half. He’s a big lad who has been around the leagues so he is the type of experienced player I’m looking for to help us finish the campaign.”
